ProGuard Training is the industrial training division of ProGuard Consulting, offering structured health and safety training focused on plant, lifting, and workplace safety across the North West and North Wales, with the capability to serve multi-site clients throughout the UK.
We specialise in high-risk operational environments where mechanical handling equipment, plant, and lifting operations are integral to daily tasks. Our clients come from various sectors, including construction, warehousing, logistics, utilities, manufacturing, and contractor-led environments, where our competence-led training enhances workforce skills and directly impacts operational performance.
Our focus is straightforward:
Develop real competence. Reduce operational risk. Strengthen safety culture.
Training should not be a tick-box exercise.
At ProGuard Training, we design and deliver competence-led training programmes that reflect real working conditions — your equipment, your traffic routes, your lifting plans, and your operational pressures.
We prioritise:
- Practical operator competence
- Behavioural safety awareness
- Risk recognition in live environments
- Safe systems of work integration
- Clear competence documentation
We do not deliver generic classroom-only sessions. Instead, we provide structured, site-relevant health and safety training that transfers directly into safer performance on the ground, ensuring our industrial training is effective and applicable.
To strengthen industrial safety performance through competence-led training, we aim to develop confident and competent operators, as well as support personnel who are well-versed in both the mechanics of equipment and the health and safety training related to its use.
Professional Integrity
We deliver structured, honest, competence-led training that is aligned to industry expectations and operational realities.
Operational Relevance
Our health and safety training reflects live site conditions—ensuring practical relevance instead of theory detached from practice.
Risk Awareness
We focus on preventing the incidents that matter: struck-by events, dropped loads, plant collisions, falls from height, and lifting failures through our targeted industrial training.
Consistency
We ensure clear documentation, structured assessments, and repeatable standards across sites.
We provide competence-led training in plant and industrial training for:
- Construction contractors
- Civil engineering firms
- Warehousing and distribution centres
- Logistics operators
- Utilities providers
- Manufacturing environments
- Contractor networks
Our core delivery area encompasses the North West and North Wales, with structured health and safety training and UK-wide support available for larger operations.

Health and Safety Training & Workplace Support Training
Each programme, designed as competence-led training, is delivered with thorough competence assessment and clear documentation suitable for training matrices and contractor assurance, ensuring a focus on industrial training.
We are not just a standalone “course provider.” We are part of a broader safety and risk consultancy, focusing on delivering competence-led training that encompasses health and safety training as well as industrial training. This approach means: Structured thinking, Governance awareness, Operational risk understanding, and Safety culture integration. Our training is delivered within a comprehensive risk management context.
We assess:
Safe equipment control
Load stability
Reversing discipline
Communication during lifting
Awareness of exclusion zones
Our focus is on operators' competence-led training, ensuring they are genuinely safe rather than merely having attended health and safety training. This is crucial in our approach to industrial training.
Where appropriate, competence-led training is delivered on-site using your equipment and aligns with:
- Traffic management plans
- Pedestrian segregation
- Lift planning
- Ground condition risk
- Site-specific hazards
This health and safety training ensures direct operational relevance and supports effective industrial training.
We provide structured records that support competence-led training initiatives, alongside essential documentation for health and safety training, industrial training, contractor audits, and internal assurance processes. Professional documentation matters.
We operate primarily across the North West and North Wales, providing responsive and flexible delivery of competence-led training, including health and safety training and industrial training. For multi-site organisations, we can support structured programmes across the UK.
Our competence-led training is designed to minimize the types of incidents that can lead to serious consequences in the workplace, focusing on critical areas of health and safety training. This includes reducing risks associated with: plant collisions, reversing incidents, dropped loads, struck-by events, falls from height, and lifting failures. Our industrial training ensures that all employees are equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to prevent these occurrences.
We are committed to raising the standard of industrial training—not by adding complexity, but by strengthening competence through competence-led training. If you require professional plant and industrial training that is clearly structured and aligned with operational risk control, ProGuard Training provides the expertise you need to enhance your health and safety training.
